The Best Breakfast on Maui That Nobody Is Talking About

I’m just going to say it…SixtyTwo MarcKet might be the best breakfast on Maui and almost nobody outside the local crowd seems to know about it. It’s tucked away in Wailuku, which has a great local, entrepreneurial energy to it but doesn’t get much visitor traffic. And honestly, that’s part of what makes this place so good.

The whole concept is farm to table and seasonal, and I mean genuinely seasonal, not just a buzzword on a menu. The name SixtyTwo MarcKet actually comes from the fact that the menu changes every 62 days so it always features whatever’s in season on the island at that moment. It’s a really cool concept. This isn’t your typical beachy, casual Maui breakfast spot either…it’s a notch more upscale (especially foodwise) than places like the Gazebo or Kihei Caffe, while still feeling relaxed and unpretentious.

This post may contain some affiliate links, which means I’ll make a little money on anything you choose to purchase. But of course, I only recommend my absolute favorites to you. Thank you for supporting the brands that make HulaLand possible.

Who This Restaurant Is Perfect For…

This is a perfect brunch spot if you’re someone who wants a slightly more elevated breakfast experience without it feeling like a big production. It’s ideal if you’re spending the day exploring the Wailuku/Iao Valley side of the island rather than parking yourself at a resort all day.

Side Note: If you’re looking for a rental car for your trip, I LOVE Discount Hawaii Car Rentals. They’re seriously the only company I ever use. They’ll give you the very best prices, you don’t have to reserve with a credit card or pay until you show up, you can cancel and re-book anytime if you find a better rate, and they usually have a special that adds additional drivers for no fee. It’s a no brainer. Click here to check rates for your trip.

Honestly, it’s an amazing post hike brunch spot. If you’re tackling the Waihe’e Ridge Trail (one of my favorite hikes on Maui, by the way) or heading out to check out Iao Valley, this is a great place to refuel afterward. It’s also just a nice way to explore a part of Maui that doesn’t get nearly as much love from visitors as it should.

Extra Details

Price wise, expect it to run a little higher than your average casual Maui breakfast spot, but it’s worth it for the quality and creativity of the food. Since the menu rotates so often based on what’s in season, I can’t really give you a “must order” dish that will always be there…but that’s honestly part of the fun. Go in with an open mind and let the seasonal specials guide you.

A couple practical notes…they’re closed on Saturdays, so don’t make the mistake of planning your trip around a Saturday brunch here. And if you’re going  on Sundays, I’d recommend making a reservation just to be safe.

If you’re looking to branch out from the typical tourist breakfast spots and want to explore a more local side of Maui while still eating really, really well, Marcket 62 deserves a spot on your list. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re in on a little Maui secret, and honestly… I kind of love keeping it that way.

I’ve made it my job for the last 10 years to explore Maui.

And after hundreds of beach days, rainforest hikes, snorkeling trips, and reconnaissance missions to find the best hotels… and mai tais… I put everything I know into one place.

This is my Maui Digital Map — hundreds of my favorite spots. Beaches, snorkeling spots, hikes, farm tours, scenic drives, places to eat.

Yes, I share hidden spots I don’t talk about so much on social media…but also—tourist doesn’t have to be a dirty word. Popular places are popular for a reason.

So I break down what’s worth it, what’s not, where to spend your money, where to save it, and how to avoid crowds at some of Maui’s most popular (and best) places so you actually enjoy your time.

I’m also sharing all of my travel guides on when to go, where to stay, detailed hotel reviews…
plus dozens of itinerary options based on where you’re staying and what you love to do.

It’s everything you need to see the best of Maui and actually relax. A Vacation in a box…all YOU need to do is pack your suitcase.
