The Most Reasonably Priced Meal in Lahaina (With the Oceanfront Views)
Oceanfront dining on Maui can get expensive fast…and after the wildfires in 2023 burned so much of Lahaina to the ground, spots are so limited in that area. Which is why Aloha Mixed Plate is such a find.
This casual, open air restaurant serves up local style Hawaiian food right on the water, and the prices are pretty reasonable. Especially for what you’re getting. That combination is rare enough on Maui that it’s worth making a point to come here.
The vibe is totally no-frills in the best way. This isn’t a place where you’re going to impress a date with white tablecloths and a sommelier. It’s more plate lunch style (but elevated) with a good bar and the Pacific Ocean right in front of you.

Who Aloha Mixed Plate Is Perfect For…
This is a great spot for pretty much any traveler who finds themselves in Lahaina and wants a real meal without the sticker shock. It’s especially perfect if you’re curious about local style Hawaiian food but you’re not planning on attending a luau. Here’s a fun little detail: Aloha Mixed Plate is run by the same kitchen that feeds guests at the Old Lahaina Luau next door, which is one of the most beloved luaus on the island. So the food has serious local credibility.
Side Note: If you’re looking for a rental car for your trip, I LOVE Discount Hawaii Car Rentals. They’re seriously the only company I ever use. They’ll give you the very best prices, you don’t have to reserve with a credit card or pay until you show up, you can cancel and re-book anytime if you find a better rate, and they usually have a special that adds additional drivers for no fee. It’s a no brainer. Click here to check rates for your trip.
It’s also just a really solid option for families, budget conscious travelers, or anyone who wants to sit outside by the ocean and eat well without doing the math on whether they can afford dessert.
And here’s something worth knowing if you’ve been following what’s happened in Lahaina since the 2023 fires…Aloha Mixed Plate is located in a small cluster of four or five restaurants on Front Street that survived. Businesses that have reopened in Lahaina are really counting on visitor support right now, so coming here genuinely means something beyond just a good meal. You’re helping a community rebuild, and that feels like a pretty good reason to show up hungry.
Extra Details
Prices are very reasonable by Maui standards. You’re looking at plate lunch style portions, so you’re getting a lot of food for the money. The shoyu chicken is the dish to order here. It’s the standout on the menu and a perfect introduction to local style Hawaiian cooking if you haven’t had it before.
Beyond the shoyu chicken, the rest of the menu sticks to classic local comfort food…rice, mac salad, the works.
