The Best Coffee AND Acai Bowls in Hawaii Might Be at the Same Place

One of my favorite parts of vacation is visiting local coffee shops and there are plenty in Hawaii. New ones opening every day! But Island Vintage has been around for awhile and earned its spot in my rotation when I’m staying in Waikiki or Ka’anapali on Maui.

The vibe here is casual grab and go (or grab and sit if you can snag a table), and they’re known for two things really… their coffee drinks AND their acai bowls. Which is perfect because I love when I can get good coffee and breakfast at the same spot (not always a given).

Who This Spot Is Perfect For…

This is always one of my favorite quick breakfast spots whenever I’m staying within walking distance. There’s a location in Waikiki at the Royal Hawaiian Center, which makes it an easy stop if you’re staying anywhere nearby and want something fast before heading to the beach or out on the day’s adventure.

I also love the one on Maui at Whalers Village on Ka’anapali Beach… if I’m staying in that area, I’ll wander over to grab coffee and then take it on a walk along the beach. It’s basically my version of a morning ritual when I’m there.

It’s perfect for anyone who wants a quick, no fuss breakfast without sitting down for a full meal. It’s not a sit down breakfast spot or anything fancy…it’s purely a “fuel up and go enjoy your day” kind of place. If you’re staying near Waikiki or Ka’anapali and want a reliable, tasty breakfast option that won’t eat up half your morning, this is it.

Side Note: If you’re looking for a rental car for your trip, I LOVE Discount Hawaii Car Rentals. They’re seriously the only company I ever use. They’ll give you the very best prices, you don’t have to reserve with a credit card or pay until you show up, you can cancel and re-book anytime if you find a better rate, and they usually have a special that adds additional drivers for no fee. It’s a no brainer. Click here to check rates for your trip.

My personal go to order is their Island Latte. They make a lot of great coffee drinks in general, but that one’s my favorite every single time.

But honestly, the acai bowls might be the real star here. They’ve got different base options and a bunch of topping combos so you can really customize it depending on what you’re in the mood for. It’s one of my favorite acai bowls on the island, and that’s saying something because Hawaii does NOT mess around when it comes to acai bowls.

One tip though…the Waikiki location gets long lines, especially as the morning goes on. So if you’re heading there, go early. Trust me on this one. Also, there’s a location in the Shops at Wailea in south Maui (although there are a few other coffee shops in the area that I usually hit instead when I’m on that part of the island).

And there are also locations at Ala Moana, Haleiwa, and Kapolei on Oahu. And at King’s Shop on Hawaii’s Big Island.

I’ve made it my job for the last 10 years to explore Maui.

And after hundreds of beach days, rainforest hikes, snorkeling trips, and reconnaissance missions to find the best hotels… and mai tais… I put everything I know into one place.

This is my Maui Digital Map — hundreds of my favorite spots. Beaches, snorkeling spots, hikes, farm tours, scenic drives, places to eat.

Yes, I share hidden spots I don’t talk about so much on social media…but also—tourist doesn’t have to be a dirty word. Popular places are popular for a reason.

So I break down what’s worth it, what’s not, where to spend your money, where to save it, and how to avoid crowds at some of Maui’s most popular (and best) places so you actually enjoy your time.

I’m also sharing all of my travel guides on when to go, where to stay, detailed hotel reviews…
plus dozens of itinerary options based on where you’re staying and what you love to do.

It’s everything you need to see the best of Maui and actually relax. A Vacation in a box…all YOU need to do is pack your suitcase.
